Welcome

Halil Şen is an operation research analyst and an optimization software developer who is currently focused on learning machine learning.

He was a postdoctoral researcher in the ReAlOpt team of INRIA Bordeaux – Sud-Ouest under the PGMO Fellowship launched by Électricité de France (EDF) and the Jacques Hadamard Mathematical Foundation (FMJH). He worked on the development of the in-house optimization software called BaPCod and implemented the Benders decomposition side of the software.

He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Sabancı University. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Industrial  Engineering from Yıldız Technical University and Sabancı University, respectively, in 2008 and 2010. During his graduate studies, he worked as a visiting researcher in ISE at The Ohio State University and had collaborations in LIP6 at Pierre and Marie Curie University.

His research interests are in modeling and analysis of scheduling systems with and without stochasticity, mathematical programming, computational operations research, optimization software development and recently, machine learning.
