Sanem Evren was born in 1987, in İstanbul, Turkey. She received her B.Sc. degree in Systems Engineering from Yeditepe University in 2010 and her MS degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Sabancı University in 2012. Currently, she is working on her Ph.D. in Swarm Intelligence in Mechatronics Program, Sabanci University, Turkey, supervised by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ünel. She is a member of CVR research group.

MILRES (Milli Rüzgar Enerjisi Sistemleri) Projesi

Developing Wind Energy Systems: In December 2010, Sabancı University received a new grant from Energy Ministry of Turkey and TUBITAK to develop national wind energy systems. MILRES Project officially started in July 2011 and I started to work in this project at that time. The goal is to design, develop, prototype and test novel turbine systems. I was worked in System Modeling Group.  I built aerodynamic, mechanical, electrical and control models in S4WT (Samcef for Wind Turbines) environment. The basic goal of S4WT is to construct a FEM model of a wind turbine from basic components, to import engineering parameters to the model and then to analyze the model with these parameter values. I integrate Turbsim with S4WT to generate realistic wind profiles. Turbsim is a stochastic, full-field, turbulent-wind simulator.
