Dr. Anbar studied Mathematics between 2003 and 2007 at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey. She started her Master’s degree at Sabancı University on the subject of “Ramification in extensions of rational function fields” under the supervision of Prof. Henning Stichtenoth and continued her Ph.D. with Prof. Henning Stichtenoth on the subject of “Algebraic curves in prime characteristics” at Sabancı University in İstanbul, Turkey. During her Ph.D., she visited the University of Perugia in Italy (March 2011-February 2012), to work with Prof. Massimo Gulietti.

After obtaining her Ph.D., she worked as a post-doctoral researcher and a research scientist at Sabancı University (July 2012-February 2014), at Max Planck Institute for Mathematics (March 2014-May 2014) in Bonn, Germany; at the Technical University of Denmark (November 2014-September 2016); at Otto-von-Guericke-Universitat Magdeburg (October 2016-March 2017) in Germany; at RICAM (May 2017-January 2018) in Linz, Austria and at the Johannes Kepler University (February 2018-August 2018) in Linz, Austria. 

Since September 2018, she has been a Faculty Member in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Sabancı University.
