With an infrared light source, this detection system can selectively “sniff out” the alcohol concentration of your alcoholic beverages at room temperature in less than 2 minutes. Cheers to 2023 and the uncooled pyroelectric “nose!”
You can check out this work which is published at Sensors and Actuators A, doi.org/10.1016/j.sna.2023.114164

Congratulations to all authors, and thank you for your contribution: Eda Goldenberg, and especially Ceren Mitmit for her excellent work.

Our recent work on the development of smart window is published at Cell Reports Physical Science doi.org/10.1016/j.xcrp.2022.101218
This window blocks heat from the sun, reflects longwave radiation, and grants users “privacy protection.” A way to help reduce indoor heating and cooling demand.

Congratulations to all authors, and thank you for your contribution: Merve Mocan, B. Tugba Camic, Hande E. Cingil, and especially Ceren Mitmit for her excellent work.

Blue-to-red or purple-to-red color transitions. Can we tune a colorimetric polymer sensor (polydiacetylene) to detect different exposure levels of triggers?

Congratulations to all authors for this work which was published at Materials Chemistry Frontiers doi.org/10.1039/D2QM01006B,
and thank you for your contribution: Hande E. Cingil and Gizem Beliktay.

We want to welcome Dr. Tayyaba Shaikh to our group. She will conduct research on nanoparticle synthesis, functionalization of nanoparticles, and development of sensors.

1st August 2022
We want to welcome Aybüke Büşra ÖZER to our group. She will conduct research and development of flexible wearable sensors, particularly for humidity and pH sensing.

27th July 2022
Ceren has recently finished her master’s degree studies, and her thesis titled “DEVELOPMENT OF FUNCTIONAL MULTILAYER COATINGS FOR GAS SENSING AND SMART WINDOW APPLICATIONS.” Congratulations to her.
