I get a lot of mail from prospective students during application periods and I cannot respond to all, so here is some general points:

I do accept new students (MS and PhD), but only after they are admitted to a SU program (Data Science(DS) or Computer Science (CS)). So, I do not interview students beforehand (I know that some profs. ake this route, esp.lly in Europe, but at SU, we accept the students to the program first).

During the interview we ask some data structures/algorithms (for CS) or data science and basic algorithms (for DS) questions. In general, my advice for interviewees is never to say “I don’t know” to any question, but to show us your thinking process. You may even state what is the dumb or brute force approach and then state its shortcomings and next try to improve it.

Sabanci offers yuition waiver to all accepted students + stipend in case of full scholarship. But you can find the most recent and correct information on SU websites.

The applications has become quite competitive in recent years; so we have to filter many reasonably good candidates, before even the interview stage.
