Hello.

I’m an Associate Professor at Sabancı University, Istanbul.  I study cognitive processes, emotion/mood/affect, and how they influence each other.  I am most interested in how depression and anxiety influence future thinking, and especially how they relate to pessimistic estimates of the probabilities of negative vs. positive events; I call this probability bias.

I also dabble in psychiatric epidemiology, and occasionally social psychology.
